Electrician's Mate Instructor (Electrical Systems)

Location: Yorktown, Virginia, United States. Full-time onsite schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

What you will do

• Teach electrical systems and electrical systems theory across shipboard and shore-based applications.
• Deliver instruction according to course curriculum outlines and instructional materials.
• Assess class knowledge and adapt teaching to the appropriate level.
• Manage classroom discipline, safety, materials, schedules, and student behavior.
• Collaborate with Government and contract team members.
• Complete accurate and timely training documentation and work products in accordance with USCG Training System procedures.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience as a primary classroom instructor.
• Seven years of electrical field experience or a journeyman electrician certification.
• Subject matter expertise in one or more areas including AC/DC circuit theory, generators and motors, electronic circuits, Boolean algebra, power distribution, navigation systems, signal lights, interior communications, or small boat electrical systems.
• Experience with Navy or Coast Guard shipboard electrical systems is preferred.
• No security clearance is required.
