Emissions Technician (Oil and Gas)

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada; field travel across all Canadian provinces and the US may be required.

Salary: CAD 30–35 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Inspect oil and gas facilities to identify and quantify hydrocarbon gas leaks and vents.
• Operate Optical Gas Imaging cameras and other detection and measurement technologies.
• Coordinate travel to facilities using maps and GPS.
• Calibrate and maintain emissions monitoring equipment.
• Collect and record emissions data and prepare field reports.
• Work independently on some shifts and support standby or on-call response when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, including Mechanical, Petroleum, Process, Chemical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Effective computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office, and proficiency with Android OS.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Ability to respond to a facility within one hour when standby or on-call duty is required.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of and experience with LDAR-related hardware and tools.
