What you will do
- Serve as in-house counsel for a portfolio of complex civil litigation matters, partnering with business clients on facts, objectives, and risk posture.
- Develop and execute case strategy with outside counsel, including case assessments, motion practice, discovery, expert strategy, and trial or arbitration preparation.
- Lead all phases of discovery and eDiscovery, coordinating with custodians, IT, and outside counsel to ensure accurate and timely production.
- Prepare executives and employees for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial testimony.
- Review and edit pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and other court filings.
- Evaluate settlements, lead negotiations and mediations, and manage outside counsel performance, budgets, and metrics.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience practicing complex civil litigation, with significant responsibility for strategy, discovery, motion practice, and resolution.
- Juris Doctor degree with an exemplary academic record.
- Admission in good standing to at least one U.S. jurisdiction is required.
- Wisconsin bar admission is required, or commitment to become licensed in Wisconsin within the first year.
- Strong business acumen and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide practical legal advice, exercise sound judgment, and manage complex matters independently.
