TL;DR
HSE Advisor (Energy): Providing health, safety, environmental, and compliance guidance across a major EPC project in Western Australia with an accent on site management systems, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments. Focus on monitoring work permits, conducting competency assessments, closing corrective actions, and coaching site personnel within a 16-days-on/10-days-off FIFO roster.
Location: Thebarton, with FIFO travel to a major EPC project in Western Australia on a 16-days-on/10-days-off roster. Interstate travel may be required.

What you will do
- Provide professional guidance and support on health, safety, environmental, and compliance matters.
- Maintain site management systems and support compliance with company, legislative, and client requirements.
- Conduct workplace inspections, surveillance audits, compliance reviews, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking.
- Monitor work permit systems and conduct Verification of Competency assessments.
- Develop, review, and implement SWMS, JSAs, risk assessments, emergency response plans, and exercises.
- Coach workers, deliver toolbox talks and safety training, and liaise with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
Requirements
- Proven HSE experience in construction, mining, oil and gas, power generation, renewables, or another high-risk industry.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training, White Card, and Australian work authorisation are essential.
- Strong experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety auditing.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, organisation, and safety leadership skills.
- Ability to deliver toolbox talks, safety training, and coaching to site personnel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Nice to have
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Work Health and Safety.
- Degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
- Lead Auditor and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualifications.
- Experience with Skytrust, Chemwatch, or Omega 365.
