Information Systems Technician (IT) Instructor

Location: Petaluma, California, United States; onsite

Hourly rate: $34.00–$36.00 per hour, plus an additional $5.55 per hour for health and welfare benefits.

What you will do

• Deliver classroom, laboratory, seminar, lecture, demonstration, and practical instruction for U.S. Coast Guard Information Systems Technician students.
• Prepare training areas, maintain training aids and equipment, and incorporate relevant lessons learned, doctrine, and current tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Evaluate student knowledge and performance, grade tests and projects, conduct academic counseling, and provide remedial training and retests.
• Maintain class status reports, student training records, training quality reports, and graduation documentation in accordance with USCG Training Center policies.
• Manage classroom computer systems, including troubleshooting, hardware and software upgrades, backups, equipment replacement, and performance-based computer training support.
• Use feedback from students, faculty, and supervisors to improve instructional delivery and performance outcomes.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background check.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience as a primary classroom instructor.
• CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+ certification.
• Subject matter expertise in data networks, client/server environments, Microsoft products, helpdesk management, disaster recovery, system administration, network maintenance, and computer equipment repair.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); no security clearance is required.
