Senior Design Manager - Growth (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Canada or the United States; offices in San Francisco, New York, or Portland may also be available.

Salary: US employees: $228,700–$285,900 USD base salary; Canadian employees: $216,200–$270,200 CAD base salary. Total rewards also include equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and grow designers across Conversion, Activation, and Virality.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape Growth strategy and identify high-leverage opportunities.
• Use experimentation, customer insight, and business results to guide product decisions.
• Improve experiences across Mercury’s public web presence, conversion, activation, virality, and customer experience.
• Create clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and define where design can have the greatest impact.
• Build scalable Growth Design systems and operating practices while preserving creativity and judgment.

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing high-performing product or growth designers.
• Experience coaching senior designers through ambiguous and consequential work.
• Track record of using design to drive measurable business outcomes.
• Strong design thinking, visual judgment, and product judgment.
• Ability to move between strategic partnership, critique, organizational leadership, and hands-on work.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment and develop people effectively.

Nice to have

• Background in product design, growth design, consumer products, commerce, or similarly outcome-focused environments.
