What you will do

  • Operate heavy equipment such as motor graders, bulldozers, scrapers, loaders, tractors, pumps, and related construction machinery.
  • Excavate, move, and grade earth and support site or highway construction projects.
  • Inspect assigned equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and report defects or repair needs.
  • Identify underground and overhead utilities before excavation and review trenching protection requirements.
  • Follow company, OSHA, orientation, and project safety procedures and report operational issues to project leadership.
  • Assist with training entry-level employees on maintenance and repair duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6–12 months of construction equipment operating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles, construction hazards, safety precautions, grade stakes, and site plans.
  • OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, follow and transmit written and oral instructions, and apply practical mathematical concepts.
  • At least 18 years of age and able to lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work outdoors.
  • Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required.
