Senior Associate - Diligence (Chicago) (Specialty Finance): Leading diligence workstreams for lending and structured finance transactions, including portfolio analysis, collateral testing, operational reviews, and client-facing reporting, with an accent on receivables, loans, leases, and financial asset analysis. Focus on validating lender and servicer reporting, testing data and documentation, assessing controls, and translating findings into recommendations for lenders and investors.
Location: Greater Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid, with 2–3 days in the office during non-travel weeks. Travel is approximately 10–20%.

What you will do
- Lead workstreams for specialty finance diligence engagements and manage interactions with lenders and borrowers.
- Review lender reporting, borrowing base calculations, servicer reports, and securitization performance reporting.
- Assess underwriting, servicing, collections, cash management, and operational controls.
- Analyze loan, lease, and receivable portfolio performance and identify collateral trends.
- Perform and review file testing, data validation, payment testing, and documentation analysis.
- Prepare client-facing conclusions, exception summaries, and recommendations while reviewing junior team members’ work.
Requirements
- Approximately 4–5 years of experience in audit, assurance, transaction services, field examination, due diligence, commercial finance, or related lending work.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong Excel, data analysis, and financial reconciliation skills.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills for communicating findings to lenders, investors, and management teams.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with colleagues and clients across different time zones.
Nice to have
- CPA qualification.
- Direct experience in field examinations, lender due diligence, securitization, asset-based lending, or specialty finance.
- Experience with financial services, leasing, or lending clients.
- Market contacts or prior competitor experience.
