Location: Remote in the United States, with fieldwork and travel throughout Northern California. Applicants should live within a reasonable driving distance of the greater Sacramento or Bay Area, California. Relocation and travel assistance are not provided.
Salary: $27–$35 per hour, based on training, duties, and project type.

What you will do
- Conduct pedestrian surveys, construction monitoring, archaeological testing, and site recording.
- Collect field data, digital photographs, artifact identifications, GPS data, and maps.
- Coordinate monitoring needs and schedules with construction crews.
- Maintain project files and confidentiality while applying relevant regulatory standards.
- Interact with customers and clients and perform additional assigned duties.
- Follow company safety rules and OSHA regulations during outdoor fieldwork.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related discipline.
- Completion of an archaeological field school or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of California experience in archaeological surveys, construction monitoring, and site recording.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license and personal transportation required; frequent travel to project sites is expected.
- Required experience with GPS equipment and Field Maps, Survey123, or similar software, plus Microsoft Word and Excel.
