TL;DR
Principal Architect, MedTech Technology R&D Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) (PLM/Windchill): Shaping enterprise PLM architecture for MedTech R&D across product data, engineering workflows, integrations, and connected lifecycle processes with an accent on reusable blueprints, product configuration, change control, and regulated environments. Focus on simplifying complex technology landscapes, assessing technical risks and dependencies, guiding platform evolution, and mentoring architects and engineers.
Location: Hybrid role based in Raritan, New Jersey, Belgium, or the United Kingdom. Travel of 25% domestically and internationally is required.
Salary: $122,000–$211,025 annual base pay.

What you will do
- Shape R&D Product Lifecycle Management architecture across MedTech.
- Create blueprints, reference patterns, and design principles for product data, document management, change control, product structures, BOM and part configuration, and engineering workflows.
- Guide PLM platform evolution by reducing complexity, increasing reuse, and supporting future capabilities.
- Design and support integrations between PLM, engineering systems, and adjacent enterprise platforms.
- Assess technical risks, dependencies, security considerations, scalability needs, technical debt, and compliance implications.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to architects, engineers, and technical contributors without direct people-management responsibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technology field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, PLM architecture, engineering systems architecture, or related enterprise technology roles.
- Strong experience architecting enterprise PLM solutions, including practical experience with Windchill.
- Strong understanding of PLM lifecycle processes, product data and document management, engineering change control, product structure, BOM and part configuration, and engineering workflows.
- Experience designing or guiding integrations across complex enterprise landscapes and creating practical architecture guidance.
- Experience working in regulated or complex enterprise technology environments, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in MedTech, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, or other regulated product-development environments.
- Master’s degree in a related technology field.
- Experience with ThingWorx, Integrity, requirements management, CAD integrations, regulatory and quality-related lifecycle records, or UDI-related processes.
- Experience with digital thread concepts, multi-region PLM transformation, architecture governance, integration platforms, data platforms, cloud or hybrid patterns, or event-driven architecture.
