Associate Commercial Underwriting Counsel (Real Estate)

Salary: $85,000–$113,300 annually

What you will do

• Provide underwriting support, legal counsel, and authorization for real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
• Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits.
• Advise company personnel on real estate settlement services.
• Develop and issue underwriting standards and guidelines in line with company processes.
• Collaborate with internal personnel and external customers to assess risks and identify solutions.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of title underwriting experience; commercial experience is preferred.
• Law degree required.
• Admission to practice law and an active license in the state of employment required.
• Familiarity with real estate law and title and settlement processes.
• Strong analytical, business, negotiation, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to collaborate, make decisions, build relationships, and communicate difficult information tactfully.
