Senior Multi-Media Journalist

Location: Youngstown, Ohio, United States. Regular travel is required, including community events and news conferences. The role includes holiday and occasional weekend work, outdoor assignments, and operation and transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.

What you will do

• Pitch, develop, and execute original enterprise stories focused on local community needs and interests.
• Build community contacts, break stories, and advance daily coverage.
• Report, shoot, write, edit, and present content for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.
• Respond quickly to breaking news and contribute to continuous multi-platform coverage.
• Model accurate, fair, and ethical journalism while collaborating with producers, assignment editors, and digital staff.
• Guide and mentor early-career multimedia journalists through feedback and informal coaching.

Requirements

• At least 3–5 years of professional experience in a television newsroom, including at least 3 years as a multimedia journalist.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
• Strong shooting, editing, writing, storytelling, and live reporting skills.
• Proficiency with newsroom and field technology and the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable or clean driving record.
• Ability to work in a high-stress newsroom, travel regularly, work in extreme outdoor temperatures, and work holidays and some weekends.
