Senior Estimator (Heavy Civil / DOT / Public Works)

Location: Rogers, Minnesota, United States. Primarily office-based with required travel to jobsites and client meetings, including occasional overnight stays, approximately 10%.

Base compensation: $100,000–$133,500 per year, depending on geographic location, skills, and relevant experience.

What you will do

• Coordinate estimating assignments, delegate work, and manage complex bids for heavy civil, DOT, and public works projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and jobsites to define project scope and prepare accurate estimates.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and estimates in HCSS, including materials, crews, equipment, and production rates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and material quotes, considering DBE/MBE requirements.
• Perform final bid review and quality control, submit proposals on time, and determine bid results.
• Work with Project Managers after award, mentor junior staff, and improve estimating operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or at least 10 years of project bidding and estimating experience.
• Experience with construction bidding and project management software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Ability to work in office and jobsite environments and comply with company policies and procedures.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of HCSS software and Excel.
• Experience with DeepEx, DeepFnd, or similar preliminary design software.
