Meter Electrician C-A

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma; must live within 35 miles or 40 roadway miles of the service location

Salary: $34.69–$56.36 per hour

What you will do

• Read meters for field orders and cycle billing.
• Install, remove, disconnect, reconnect, test, and program single-phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meters.
• Perform credit and collections orders, including disconnections and reconnections for non-payment.
• Investigate irregular usage, energy diversion, and self-contained service power quality problems.
• Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures; install event recorders and neutral testers and prepare reports.
• Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meters and related equipment while working from ladders and elevated platforms.

Requirements

• Associate degree in electrical or electronic technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and four years of relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electrical equipment in metering, substations, instrumentation, controls, power systems, electrical maintenance, or comparable technical environments.
• Valid state driver's license and medical certification card when required by law.
• Ability to complete the company training and qualification program within 24 months, including classroom instruction, written examination, mentoring, and performance demonstrations.
• Ability to work independently, use job-related computer applications, communicate effectively, and work overtime, weekends, late shifts, and extended daily shifts as needed.
• Ability to perform medium physical work, including handling 20–50 pounds occasionally and 10–25 pounds frequently.
