Sr. CAE Engineer – Durability Methods (FEA/CAE): Developing and standardizing durability simulation methods for next-generation off-road vehicles with an accent on fatigue analysis, nonlinear simulation, load development, and correlation with physical test data. Focus on automating CAE workflows, integrating MBD and test data, and influencing vehicle architecture decisions through scalable simulation methodologies.
Location: Wyoming, Minnesota, USA; full-time onsite role
Starting pay range: $109,000–$144,000 per year

What you will do
- Lead the development, validation, and deployment of durability methods using commercial CAE and FEA tools.
- Advance fatigue analysis, nonlinear simulation, transient response, and complex joint modeling approaches.
- Define modeling guidelines, load case strategies, load generation methods, durability events, and virtual use cases.
- Standardize CAE workflows and improve the scalability, repeatability, and consistency of engineering methods.
- Integrate MBD and physical test data to improve simulation fidelity and correlation with test results.
- Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and apply durability methods during early vehicle architecture development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in durability analysis, structural simulation, or CAE methods development.
- Expertise with FEA tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, OptiStruct, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in fatigue analysis, nonlinear simulation, load case development, and structural durability.
- Experience with Python or TCL scripting, simulation-to-test correlation, vehicle systems design and validation, and MBD tools.
- Ability to collaborate across global engineering teams and drive adoption of standardized methodologies.
