Civil CAD Designer (Civil 3D)

Location: Houston, Texas office; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work

What you will do

• Develop 3D models, drawings, details, construction plans, conceptual figures, and technical drawings for dams, levees, spillways, outlet works, floodwalls, gates, and related water resource structures.
• Interpret survey data to create accurate 3D surfaces, cross-sections, grading, alignments, and profiles for existing and proposed conditions.
• Translate engineering sketches, markups, and redlines into precise CAD deliverables.
• Apply CAD standards and update templates, styles, blocks, and production processes.
• Perform quality control reviews of models, drawings, and survey data.
• Lead CAD activities, coordinate workloads, and train and mentor CAD staff and engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Broad experience in engineering design and technical engineering support.
• Advanced proficiency with computer operations and CAD software.
• Strong learning, adaptability, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in CAD.
• Drafting and design certificate or Autodesk professional certification.
• Familiarity with Revit or MicroStation.
