Technical Designer III - New Glenn Stage 2 (Aerospace): Creating and maintaining detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and CAD assemblies for New Glenn Upper Stage structural, mechanical, and propulsion components with an accent on manufacturable aerospace design, GD&T, and configuration control. Focus on translating engineering concepts into production-ready designs, supporting design reviews, and coordinating with manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams.
Location: Greater Seattle Area; relocation is negotiable. Travel up to 10% may be required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, or individuals granted asylum.
Salary: $39.34–$55.07 per hour for Washington applicants; other site ranges may differ.

What you will do
- Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, and CAD assemblies for Upper Stage structural, mechanical, and propulsion components.
- Develop engineering drawings and GD&T callouts according to ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Support design iterations, trade studies, and preliminary and critical design reviews.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, and quality teams to ensure designs are producible and meet program requirements.
- Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials, and configuration control in PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, drafting/design, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of technical design or drafting experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably PTC Creo.
- Experience applying GD&T principles according to ASME Y14.5 and familiarity with PLM/PDM systems.
- Must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience designing launch vehicle, spacecraft, or high-performance aerospace components.
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes, including metals, composites, and surface treatments.
- Familiarity with model-based definition and paperless manufacturing workflows.
- Experience with structural or propulsion systems, including pressure vessels, fluid lines, or mechanisms.
