Maintenance Tech: Electrician (1st Shift)

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, USA; onsite manufacturing environment

Base pay: $31.05–$36.28 per hour

What you will do

• Install, maintain, repair, upgrade, and modify industrial electrical systems, wiring, motors, panels, and equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, compressed air systems, dock doors, conveyors, PLCs, and other nonproduction equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose complex problems to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams for installations and repairs.
• Inspect equipment, maintain detailed service records, and support electrical projects with engineers and maintenance staff.
• Follow electrical codes, operational policies, and strict safety procedures while working with low- to medium-voltage equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a journeyman electrician license or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in the electrical industry.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints, use electrical testing equipment and hand tools, and troubleshoot complex electrical problems.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, work in confined spaces or at heights, and maintain physical stamina in hot and cold manufacturing conditions.
• Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergency situations, with strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
