Senior Medical Science Liaison (Obesity)

Location: US – Washington, D.C.; field-based territory covering the Washington, D.C. metro area

Annual salary: $172,344.30–$233,171.70 USD

What you will do

• Serve as a scientific and clinical resource for obesity opinion leaders, community healthcare providers, population health decision makers, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct peer-to-peer scientific exchange and communicate clinical, outcomes, and economic data.
• Engage clinical investigators and research sites in support of the obesity pipeline, sponsored research, and non-sponsored clinical research.
• Connect internal and external stakeholders and provide field insights to inform medical and business strategies.
• Lead or support congress activities, speaker training, and cross-functional MSL projects.
• Maintain scientific expertise, complete compliance and administrative activities, and mentor other MSLs as designated.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, or master’s degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs experience, or bachelor’s degree and 8 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Experience in a medically related field, including clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research; post-doctoral training may count.
• Experience in a Medical Science Liaison role and current experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
• Strong scientific communication, collaboration, relationship-building, and clinical data presentation skills.
• Ability to work in the designated Washington, D.C. metro territory and maintain current clinical and scientific knowledge.

Nice to have

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.O., or another doctoral degree.
• Seven or more years of experience in a medically related field.
• Two or more years of MSL experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company.
• Cardiometabolic or obesity expertise.
