What you will do
- Support the SH&E Manager in maintaining safety, health, environmental, risk assessment, and site procedure systems.
- Manage SH&E digital systems, contractor records, inductions, training platforms, and competence documentation.
- Conduct audits, inspections, safety tours, behavioural safety conversations, and compliance reviews.
- Support environmental permitting, waste management, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to Process Safety Management activities, emergency response preparedness, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, awareness training, and life-critical risk training while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience in an SH&E-related role at entry to mid-level, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation and practical experience with risk assessments, COSHH, safe systems of work, permit-to-work, LOTO, confined spaces, and working at height.
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, management systems, and audit processes.
- IOSH Managing Safely minimum; NEBOSH or ISEP/IEMA General Certificate preferred, with willingness to progress to NEBOSH.
- Experience with audits, inspections, behavioural safety, contractor management, training delivery, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong organisation, communication, interpersonal, coaching, and influencing skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH or ISEP/IEMA General Certificate.
