Associate Designer (Handbags)

Salary: $64,200–$79,600 per year, plus potential bonus

What you will do

• Support the Senior Designer in developing seasonal handbag collections from concept through production.
• Develop concepts, silhouettes, materials, hardware, color stories, and detail direction for handbag assortments.
• Create presentation boards with sketches, inspiration imagery, materials, hardware, and construction details.
• Research seasonal trends and manage material, color, hardware, sample, and standards libraries.
• Maintain seasonal line lists, track development milestones, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Collaborate with Technical Design and Production through fittings, reviews, technical packages, and product development.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of design experience, preferably in handbags or accessories.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Strong creativity, aesthetic sensibility, attention to detail, and visual communication skills.
• Strong hand and digital illustration and sketching abilities.
• Knowledge of handbag construction, materials, hardware, and trims.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
