Commercial Department Manager (Commercial Roofing)

Location: Brentwood, California, United States; regular job site visits are required.

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 annually; OTE bonus: $190,000–$220,000.

What you will do

• Oversee day-to-day operations across the commercial roofing department.
• Manage, mentor, train, and support project managers, estimators, superintendents, foremen, and field crews.
• Review and approve estimates, bids, budgets, schedules, contracts, and pricing strategies to protect project profitability.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks or delays, and implement corrective actions across multiple large-scale projects.
• Conduct job site visits to verify workmanship, specifications, quality standards, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with sales, accounting, operations, clients, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors while reporting department metrics to executive leadership.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial roofing experience, including 2 years in a management role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, and metal roofing.
• Experience managing multiple large-scale projects, budgets, job costing, estimates, bids, and contracts.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications; proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, ability to lift 50 lbs, and ability to work safely on or around job sites.
