Commercial Credit Analyst (Finance)

What you will do

• Analyze new commercial credit requests, material modifications, and transactions from deal screening through approval and throughout the life of the loan.
• Monitor existing commercial loan portfolios through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem loan management, and early warning indicators.
• Review financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit bureau data, appraisals, industry research, and peer data to assess creditworthiness.
• Prepare independent credit analyses, risk ratings, structure recommendations, cash flow analyses, collateral schedules, and covenant sensitivity calculations.
• Partner with relationship managers, attend client and prospect calls, and present analyses during credit discussions or committee presentations.
• Support credit policy compliance, operational risk controls, audit actions, regulatory issues, and accurate data entry in bank systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, plus at least one year of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation or analysis, or another financial analysis role.
• In lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of five years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least one year of relevant financial analysis experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong customer-focused interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, or Bloomberg.
