Senior Underwriter / Account Executive Officer National Accounts

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents, brokers, and customers and business travel required.

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned national accounts book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex casualty accounts, including guaranteed cost and loss-sensitive coverage.
• Partner with agents, brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders to develop sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Market and sell insurance products, build new business opportunities, and manage sales cycles of six months to one year.
• Develop and execute agency and regional sales plans with the Managing Director.
• Support training and mentoring for less experienced Account Executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience, including National Accounts experience.
• At least four years of experience in underwriting, claims, operations, risk assessment, actuarial work, sales, product, or finance.
• Strong knowledge of loss-sensitive products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong financial acumen, critical thinking, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• CPCU designation.
