What you will do
- Develop cable routing layouts and detailed designs in line with project specifications and industry standards.
- Produce and review drawings for cable trays, ladder systems, trunking, and conduit runs.
- Assess installation feasibility, maintainability, health and safety, and cable segregation compliance.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and project engineering teams to integrate routing solutions.
- Support material take-offs, procurement inputs, technical queries, design reviews, and project delivery.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control while contributing to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience in cable routing, layout design, or a similar electrical engineering function.
- Familiarity with cable containment systems, including trays, ladders, trunking, and conduits.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or a similar tool.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Collaborative communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to have
- Experience in power generation, energy, oil and gas, or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of BS, IEC, or equivalent standards.
- Understanding of cable sizing, routing optimization, and installation constraints.
- HNC, HND, or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
