Sr Manufacturing Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico; onsite manufacturing operations

What you will do

• Develop, standardize, and implement safe, robust, and cost-effective manufacturing processes across global operations.
• Support new product introductions, pre-production activities, production ramp-up, capacity growth, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Provide manufacturing input during design reviews, including manufacturability, tooling, labor impact, equipment requirements, cost, quality, and ease of assembly.
• Coordinate the procurement, build, run-off, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Develop process documentation, equipment guidelines, work instructions, workstation layouts, and production standards.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, IT, Sourcing, Lean, and global operations teams to resolve production issues and improve safety, ergonomics, throughput, reliability, and cost.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive, manufacturing, industrial, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in assembly manufacturing.
• Experience implementing manufacturing equipment, tooling, workstations, and production systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, process development, production standards, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Advanced English proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency, strong mechanical aptitude, and hands-on technical skills.

Nice to have

• Seven or more years of manufacturing experience, especially automotive assembly experience with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• Experience with assembly automation, DC torque tools, IPT, EOLT, APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, poka-yoke, standardized work, line balancing, and continuous flow.
• CAD proficiency and technical knowledge of CNC machining centers, machining processes, dimensional tolerances, and quality requirements.
• Experience with capital equipment studies, business cases, capital expenditure recommendations, and multi-site manufacturing operations.
