Wage Field Medic (EMS)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States; on-site duties at Brayton Fire Training Field and other designated locations

Salary: $25.29 per hour

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service provides emergency response training, workforce training, and technical assistance.

What you will do

• Provide basic and advanced life support care to ill and injured staff and students in training and operational environments.
• Assess illnesses and injuries, establish care priorities, and determine the need for additional medical assistance or resources.
• Conduct patient assessments and field observations, maintain medical records, and complete patient care reports according to established protocols.
• Manage medical inventory, sanitize and maintain medical equipment, test gas detection devices, and keep treatment areas organized.
• Support field safety operations by enforcing seat belt and speed-limit policies and conducting safety inspections.
• Issue work permits, perform audits, and complete safety duties related to maintenance and construction activities on the fire field.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of verifiable experience in a high-volume city or county 911 EMS system as a released or in-charge EMT-Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• TDSHS EMT-Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic certification.
• Ability to work on site in College Station, Texas, including field-based medical and safety duties.
