What you will do
- Review home health, hospice, and other post-acute medical records for accurate and complete clinical documentation.
- Review client information systems and identify documentation gaps or inaccuracies.
- Research complex and newly issued home health, hospice, and billing regulations and provide recommendations.
- Analyze trends and recommend clinical and operational process improvements that support quality of care and patient outcomes.
- Review focused medical review documentation, write appeals for denied services, and provide support through Administrative Law Judge appeals.
- Conduct weekly client calls to present engagement findings and participate in cross-team clinical consulting work.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in nursing, social work, physical therapy, or a related discipline.
- Active and unrestricted license in the relevant professional field.
- At least five years of progressive post-acute clinical management experience in home health and/or hospice.
- Experience with home health or hospice case management and progressive involvement in quality assurance activities.
- In-depth knowledge of conditions of participation, conditions of payment, standardized assessment documents, and patient care protocols.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, plus strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Nice to have
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, MSW, physical therapy degree, or another related bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with Medicare contractor audits and appeals.
