Senior Heavy Civil Design Engineer - Dams and Levees

Location: Tampa, Florida; Houston, Texas; or New Orleans, Louisiana. Hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Lead analysis, design, technical reports, construction documents, and Engineer of Record services for dams, levees, hydraulic structures, and other heavy civil projects.
• Serve as a senior engineer and project manager for large, complex projects.
• Direct studies, investigations, designs, recommendations, and technical conclusions.
• Supervise multidisciplinary engineers, CAD technicians, designers, drafters, scientists, and external consultants.
• Manage client and regulatory agency communications, project schedules, budgets, financial reporting, and status reporting.
• Develop quality control plans and support proposals, client visits, marketing, and business development activities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience engineering dams, levees, and hydraulic structures.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage project teams while overseeing work quality.
• Registration with the Florida, Texas, or Louisiana Board of Professional Engineers.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of engineering experience.
• Participation in organizations related to stormwater, flood mitigation, or civil infrastructure.
• Interest in practice leadership, staffing strategy, technical standards, and mentoring future project managers.
