Robotics Application Engineer (Vacuum)

Location: San Jose, CA, United States; the role includes domestic and international travel to customer sites.

Salary: $150,000–$170,000 per year; bonus up to 10%.

What you will do

• Respond to customer requests related to semiconductor robot applications.
• Lead prototype design projects through the project process and coordinate mechanical, electrical, software, and prototype teams.
• Create CAD drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation.
• Provide technical guidance on robot system issues.
• Provide field support at customer sites, including domestic and international travel.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• At least five years of application experience in automation or the semiconductor industry, including vacuum-environment equipment.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of automation systems, operating principles, key components, and failure modes.
• Knowledge of basic programming logic and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and manage multiple projects.

Nice to have

• AutoCAD experience.
• NX experience.
• Experience with vacuum-environment robots.
