Automotive Repair Specialist II (Automotive Repair): Performing advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles with an accent on engine performance, electrical systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and heating and air conditioning. Focus on diagnosing complex vehicle issues, completing four-wheel alignments, maintaining repair documentation and parts inventory, and meeting CarMax quality and safety standards.
Location: Green Brook Township, New Jersey, United States
Hourly rate: $38.40–$57.60. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

What you will do
- Perform advanced mechanical repairs involving engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, heating and air conditioning systems, and complete four-wheel alignments.
- Inspect vehicles according to quality standards and maintain shop cleanliness using 5S principles.
- Consult with customers, explain repair needs and completed services, and provide clear communication.
- Complete repair orders with accurate labor, parts, and billing information.
- Manage parts inventory, receive shipments, and follow environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Complete New Associate Orientation Training – Operations and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
- Maintain applicable ASE certifications required by state or local law, including certifications covering steering and suspension, brakes, heating and air conditioning, electrical systems, engine repair, manual drivetrain and axles, engine performance, and automatic transmission/transaxle.
- Read, interpret, and record data accurately.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods in office and outdoor environments, with possible exposure to noise and inclement weather.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, active listening, and customer service skills; work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
