Fabricator - 1st shift ($20.45+ per hr)

Manufactures customized fire and emergency apparatus, including pumpers, aerials, tankers, and rescue units.

What you will do

• Set up and operate at least two fabrication machines, such as cold cut saws, band saws, drill presses, deburring equipment, grinders, and shears.
• Read job orders and blueprints to determine material types, stock sizes, and cutting dimensions.
• Obtain, transfer, cut, grind, and drill stock; operate a forklift when required.
• Measure completed work to verify conformance with specifications.
• Perform designated preventative and scheduled machine maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and communicate effectively with coworkers.

Requirements

• At least three months of related experience.
• Ability to use measuring devices such as tape measures, height gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
• Ability to use small and pneumatic hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, perform bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, and pulling, and lift at least 35 lb.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and a vest.
