Engineer I - Electrical (Engineering Development Program 2027)

Location: Hybrid role based at Plant 7 West Segment Office in Pella, Iowa, USA; occasional travel expected

What you will do

• Support the design and integration of control systems and vehicle electronics for industrial equipment.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics using CAD tools such as Zuken E3 or AutoCAD.
• Implement and troubleshoot CAN systems, including SAE J1939 protocols and physical-layer design.
• Diagnose and test electrical systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition software.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability.
• Track designs and engineering changes in PLM systems such as Dassault Systèmes 3DX.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering, control systems, and vehicle electronics.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Zuken E3 or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with CAN protocols, SAE J1939, signal integrity, termination, and wiring.
• Basic experience with data acquisition and analysis tools such as Dewesoft, MATLAB, or nCode.
• Exposure to functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508, PLM and ECN systems, and hands-on troubleshooting in laboratory or field environments.
