Senior Supply Chain Category Manager - Indirect Spend

What you will do

• Create and execute category-specific purchasing strategies aligned with business goals.
• Execute RFPs and RFQs to support category strategies and identify qualified suppliers.
• Build supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing.
• Conduct market research and monitor market trends, inflation, tariffs, and other pricing factors.
• Control supply chain expenses, implement cost-saving initiatives, and track procurement KPIs.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance stakeholders and resolve supplier disputes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of procurement experience; gas utility experience may substitute for procurement experience.
• Ability to develop business relationships and communicate with internal clients and supplier representatives.
• Proficiency in reporting, statistical analysis, ratios, and percentages.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Knowledge of purchasing and inventory-control databases such as Oracle and SAP.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or professional certification such as CPM or CPSM.
• Gas utility industry experience.
