Procurement Manager - Energy and Industrial Gases

Location: Hybrid position based at hirify.global headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. Travel of approximately 15–25% to U.S. and international manufacturing sites is required.

Salary: $126,067–$196,980 per year, plus a 14% annual bonus target.

What you will do

• Lead a procurement professional and personally manage complex negotiations and category decisions.
• Develop and execute global, regional, and site sourcing strategies for electricity, natural gas, steam, hydrogen, and industrial gases.
• Negotiate and manage utility tariffs, PPAs/VPPAs, green tariffs, demand-response products, and long-term industrial-gas supply agreements.
• Manage commodity price risk, supplier performance, contracts, sourcing events, and supply-risk mitigation.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Treasury, EHS, Legal, and Sustainability on plant continuity, energy efficiency, safety, and decarbonization.
• Identify cost-reduction, total-cost-of-ownership, working-capital, and lower-carbon energy opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Energy, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of strategic procurement or commercial energy/gas experience, including substantial experience with energy commodities and/or industrial gases.
• At least 3 years of experience leading and developing procurement, sourcing, or supply-chain professionals.
• Experience procuring electricity or natural gas in regulated and deregulated markets, including tariff analysis and work with an ISO/RTO such as PJM.
• Hands-on experience negotiating PPAs or long-term industrial-gas supply agreements, with knowledge of industrial-gas production, logistics, and commercial terms.
• Proficiency with ERP and Source-to-Pay platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or GEP, plus strong contract, supplier, financial, market, and risk-management skills.

Nice to have

• MBA or certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, CPP, CEM, or GARP Energy Risk Professional.
• Experience with hydrogen, steam, combined heat and power, supplier-owned generation, GHG Protocol Scope 2, SBTi, or supplier ESG programs.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher and experience with global procurement transformation initiatives.
• Multi-country contracting experience in Europe, Asia, or Latin America; additional language capability.
• Process-safety, chemical-manufacturing, FERC, state utility regulation, or industrial-gas transportation experience.
