Principal Software Engineer (Java/Spring)

Location: Westchester, Illinois, United States; office and/or remote work environment

Salary: $188,420–$235,550 per year

What you will do

• Design, code, and maintain server-side web applications, APIs, and infrastructure components.
• Build efficient and scalable software using Java and Spring technologies.
• Refactor and improve the maintainability of the codebase.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide resolutions for live systems.
• Solve complex scalability, platform, and integration problems.
• Act as a subject-matter expert and support junior software engineers.

Requirements

• 10–12 years of application design and development experience.
• Expert knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot microservices, Spring Cloud, API development, and API security.
• Expert experience developing and consuming REST and SOAP web services.
• Experience with MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL relational databases and Tomcat or similar application servers.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, production support, and troubleshooting.
• Must be legally entitled to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Agile Scrum, TDD, and pair programming experience.
• Modern CI/CD tools, deployment pipelines, and Git or Bitbucket.
• AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes experience.
• Full-stack development with HTML5, JavaScript, TypeScript, or AngularJS.
