TL;DR
Senior RF Manufacturing Test Engineer (RF): Transitioning and producing advanced RF systems including seekers, proximity sensors, and other mission-critical electronics with an accent on production test robustness, yield optimization, and RF signal-chain troubleshooting. Focus on diagnosing intermittent failures, developing automated RF test systems, improving calibration and test coverage, and solving complex performance issues across RF, digital, embedded, and electromechanical domains.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; hands-on work on the manufacturing floor and at the bench. U.S. citizenship required.
Company
supports the transition and production of advanced RF systems for mission-critical defense applications.
What you will do
- Serve as the technical authority for production RF performance, test strategy, and yield optimization across seekers, proximity sensors, height-of-burst sensors, antennas, and RF subsystems.
- Lead root-cause investigations into intermittent failures, environmental sensitivities, calibration drift, noise, spurious signals, coupling, shielding, grounding, and unit-to-unit variation.
- Transition RF hardware from development into production with representative test coverage, robust calibration, repeatability, and complete readiness documentation.
- Develop automated RF test systems, alignment and calibration routines, and system-level validation methods using Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or similar frameworks.
- Optimize test flows, reduce test escapes and false failures, and use production data to analyze yield loss, drift, and performance variation.
- Partner with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Supply Chain, and customers while mentoring engineers and technicians in RF debugging and measurement techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8+ years of hands-on RF or microwave production experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex RF systems in production, including gain, loss, dynamic range, noise figure, sensitivity, linearity, compression, phase noise, stability, and interference mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, and power meters or sensors.
- Experience with production calibration, alignment, tuning, statistical process control, yield analysis, and failure investigation.
- Ability to diagnose issues spanning RF, digital, embedded, and electromechanical domains, including mechanical layout, grounding, shielding, and assembly variation.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Culture & Benefits
- Stable professional working environment focused on technical excellence and real-world problem solving.
- ESOP participation and a 401(k) plan.
- Flexible work schedules and tuition reimbursement.
- Co-sponsored health plan and paid leave.
- Employment requires successful completion of a comprehensive background check, security investigation, and drug screening.
Hiring process
- Only candidates invited for an interview will be contacted.
- Background, security, and drug screening are completed as conditions of employment.
