Staff Fullstack Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada; hybrid with three days per week in the Vancouver office. Some travel may be required for team and stakeholder offsites.

Salary: CAD 161,000–202,000 per year.

What you will do

• Drive end-to-end technical architecture and make high-stakes decisions balancing delivery speed with long-term maintainability.
• Build realtime and personalization product features across frontend and backend systems.
• Integrate generative AI into engineering workflows, including code development, automated unit testing, technical specifications, and documentation discovery.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Managers in a squad model to break down complex requirements and deliver projects.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design patterns, and technical guidance.
• Improve scalability, observability, security, and production operations while participating in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience shipping complex products.
• Deep backend development experience with Ruby, Go, Java, or Kotlin; knowledge of database design and API scalability.
• Strong architectural knowledge of the React ecosystem, including modular and testable frontend design.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and willingness to adopt emerging AI-powered engineering systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment, identify blockers, and provide technical leadership across the full stack.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating generative AI or LLM solutions, especially agent-based systems, into production workflows.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and distributed systems.
• Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
