Software Engineering Intern (HIL) - Spring/Summer 2027 (Hardware-in-the-Loop): Configure, integrate, and maintain real-time hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments for flight software and vehicle systems with an accent on automated testing, test infrastructure, and system integration. Focus on debugging hardware/software interfaces, expanding regression coverage, analyzing test failures, and validating avionics and flight deck control systems.
Location: Atlanta, GA; on-site
Salary: $25β$33 per hour, with final compensation determined by degree level.

What you will do
- Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and document hardware-in-the-loop test benches and supporting infrastructure.
- Develop automated test scripts for flight software and vehicle systems, expand test coverage, and support regression testing.
- Perform hardware configuration, software updates, calibration, test stand upkeep, and issue resolution.
- Debug signal, hardware, software, communication, and integrated-system issues.
- Validate vehicle, avionics, and flight deck control systems through automated and manual testing.
- Analyze test results, investigate root causes, and collaborate with flight software and cross-functional engineering teams.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in Julia or strong experience with Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar scientific computing languages.
- Experience developing scripts, automated tests, or software tools.
- Experience integrating hardware and working with embedded computers such as Raspberry Pis, Arduinos, or STM32s.
- Familiarity with debugging hardware/software interfaces, communication protocols, or integrated systems; GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person under U.S. export control rules or be eligible for deemed export licensing.
Culture & Benefits
- Spring internships run approximately 16 weeks from January through April.
- Summer internships run approximately 12 weeks from May through August.
