Director - Compliance, Quality & Safety (Hawthorne Army Depot)

Salary: $116,880–$175,320 per year

Day & Zimmermann operates the Hawthorne Army Depot program, supporting regulatory compliance, quality management, and occupational safety operations.

What you will do

• Lead the integrated Compliance, Quality, and Safety Management System across the program.
• Own risk assessments, annual compliance planning, policy development, training, investigations, regulatory reporting, and regulator and auditor relations.
• Oversee the Quality Management System, including document control, audits, CAPA, supplier quality, customer satisfaction metrics, and ISO certifications.
• Direct occupational safety and health activities, including hazard recognition, industrial hygiene, incident and near-miss investigations, emergency response, and corrective action tracking.
• Develop KPI dashboards, analyze compliance, quality, and safety trends, benchmark practices, and sponsor cross-functional improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial safety, management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in safety management or quality control/assurance.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA, ISO 9001/45001, root-cause methods such as 8D and TapRooT, and risk assessment methods such as FMEA and Bow-Tie.
• Expertise with data analytics and reporting tools.
• Ability to work regularly at the company office or work site in Hawthorne, Nevada.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate complex information in English.

Nice to have

• Executive management experience.
• Technical training in quality control, quality assurance, or a similar field.
• Government contracting experience.
