Project Manager, Aviation (Terminal Design)

What you will do

• Lead the design delivery of airport terminal projects, including new construction, renovations, expansions, and modernization programs.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, planners, interior designers, aviation specialists, and consultants.
• Coordinate programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, delivery strategies, risks, quality, and client expectations.
• Interface with airport owners, airlines, tenants, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Guide solutions for passenger flow, security, baggage handling, accessibility, concessions, airport operations, constructability, and phasing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, engineering, planning, construction management, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience managing airport terminal design and redevelopment projects.
• Experience delivering major terminal projects at commercial airports in the United States or internationally.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary aviation design teams and coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, tenants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Strong knowledge of airport terminal planning, architectural coordination, passenger processing, and operational requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, communication, leadership, and stakeholder expectations.

Nice to have

• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer license.
• Experience with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, major hub airports, or large-scale terminal redevelopment programs.
• Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, or Public-Private Partnership delivery methods.
• Knowledge of airport-specific design standards and regulatory requirements.
• PMP certification.
