Senior Systems Accountant - Workday Finance

Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States

Salary: $100,000–$137,000 annual base compensation

What you will do

• Administer and configure Workday Finance, including business processes, security roles, reporting, and user setup.
• Support General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and financial close processes.
• Analyze business needs, document requirements, and support Workday Finance solutions with Accounting and Finance stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot configuration and system issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolutions with IT and accounting systems leadership.
• Monitor integrations, interfaces, data flows, and data quality across the Workday Finance ecosystem.
• Support upgrades, biannual releases, module implementations, regression testing, UAT, documentation, and end-user training.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Workday Finance configuration, business process design, security roles, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial statements, and core accounting principles.
• Familiarity with system integrations, API concepts, ETL processes, and change management.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial systems, including Workday Finance experience in a systems, configuration, or functional analyst capacity.
• Ability to collaborate across business and technical teams, manage shifting priorities, and deliver accurate work under deadlines.

Nice to have

• Workday certification or experience with Accounting Center, Financial Accounting, or Procurement modules.
• Experience with ERP implementations or large-scale financial systems projects.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting certification.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
