Cloud Security Engineer - Advanced

Location: Mississauga, Canada

Salary: $112,400–$162,400 annual, plus a target annual cash incentive of 12% of base pay.

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls, defenses, and countermeasures across public-cloud and internet-facing environments.
• Partner with Cloud Engineering, Network, Identity, Security Operations, application, and vendor teams to incorporate security requirements into architecture and onboarding efforts.
• Review cloud architectures, applications, APIs, workloads, data flows, configurations, IAM, network routing, encryption, logging, monitoring, and telemetry.
• Advise on Zero Trust, standardized perimeter controls, private access, segmentation, secure connectivity, and identity-based access patterns.
• Assess designs against enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and frameworks; document risks, exceptions, findings, and remediation options.
• Support adoption of cloud-native security capabilities and communicate risk, business impact, control tradeoffs, and remediation priorities to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in information security, cloud engineering, cloud security architecture, network security, or infrastructure security.
• Experience partnering with cloud, network, identity, security operations, and application teams to assess risk and recommend secure design patterns.
• Strong understanding of public-cloud security across AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud platforms.
• Experience evaluating cloud architecture, identifying security gaps, articulating risk, and recommending implementable controls.
• Strong communication, coordination, analytical, facilitation, and project management skills, including the ability to influence teams without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
• Knowledge of SASE, ZTNA, secure web gateways, DNS security, cloud firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and private access patterns.
• Familiarity with CNAPP, CSPM, CWPP, CIEM, KSPM, infrastructure-as-code scanning, and policy-as-code.
• Working knowledge of secure SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, container and Kubernetes security, API security, and secure configuration baselines.
