Service Estimator II (HVAC): Preparing estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements with an accent on detailed scope development, equipment pricing, labor costing, and subcontractor coordination. Focus on identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing project risks, negotiating vendor pricing, and supporting Account Managers during pre-bid planning.
Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada; onsite Monday through Thursday, with a flexible work location on Fridays
Annual base salary: $72,900–$104,300 CAD

What you will do
- Create quotes for service agreements and other quoted work in support of Service Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
- Prepare cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, startup, service work, and construction-related activities.
- Develop detailed scopes of work, system sketches, points lists, exceptions, exclusions, preliminary proposals, and supporting vendor and subcontractor quotes.
- Perform equipment take-offs and pricing, verifying quantities, sizes, configurations, voltage, and options.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and project risks while maintaining awareness of industry standards.
- Develop subcontractor scopes, negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricing, and lead pre-bid meetings with Account Managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, engineering technology, or a related field with 3–5 years of related experience; alternatively, a technical certificate with 5 years of related experience or HVAC Technician experience combined with education and relevant field experience.
- Practical experience and relevant skills are considered in place of a four-year degree.
- Working knowledge of construction disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Financial and business acumen, with experience delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to prioritize work, meet tight deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with an acceptable driving record; overtime and weekend work may be required.
