TL;DR
Traveling Concrete Foreman/Superintendent - Foundations (Deep Foundations): Managing daily field operations for foundation construction projects with an accent on safety, quality, workforce coordination, and schedule control. Focus on overseeing piledriving, micropiles, caisson, and helical pile installation, coordinating subcontractors, and managing foundation equipment across multiple job sites.

Location: Field - Minnesota; 50% travel within the Upper Midwest is required.

What you will do

  • Manage daily site activities for foundation projects in accordance with safety, design, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Direct lead personnel and field crews while coordinating workforce and equipment needs with General Superintendents.
  • Schedule and monitor subcontractors and participate in pre-construction and regular project meetings.
  • Conduct job hazard awareness meetings, stretching sessions, toolbox talks, and safety corrective actions.
  • Maintain daily logs, equipment and material schedules, timecards, and documentation for safety incidents, damage, and injuries.
  • Inspect field work and materials for quality compliance and address staff performance issues, customer inquiries, and regulatory concerns.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience overseeing crews installing deep foundation systems, including piledriving, micropiles, caissons, and helical piles.
  • At least five years of experience with foundation and ground-improvement equipment, including drills, concrete pumps, and batch plants.
  • OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to oversee multiple jobs while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule standards and interpreting construction plans, specifications, reports, and legal documents.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, and willingness to join the union are required.
