Purchasing Manager - Expeditors (Manufacturing): Leading expediting operations for engineered-to-order and make-to-order manufacturing, ensuring on-time material delivery and production schedule adherence with an accent on supplier commitments, shortage resolution, and delivery visibility. Focus on developing recovery plans, driving supplier corrective actions, and improving expediting processes, KPIs, and material availability.
Location: Houston, TX (TAS-Cullen HQ), United States; primarily an on-site manufacturing role with 80%–95% of work performed at a desk.

What you will do
- Lead and directly supervise Expeditors.
- Oversee open purchase order follow-up, supplier commitments, delivery performance, and material status visibility.
- Develop recovery plans for late or critical materials and manage shortage, exception, and escalation reports.
- Develop, standardize, and improve expediting processes and standard work.
- Coordinate with Planning, Warehouse, Receiving, Manufacturing, and Project teams to support production schedules.
- Monitor delivery KPIs, drive supplier corrective actions, and communicate material risks to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or extensive relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in purchasing, expediting, supply chain, or materials management, including at least 2 years as an Expeditor.
- Experience in engineer-to-order or make-to-order manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, supplier delivery management, shortage resolution, and production support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, accountability, and continuous-improvement skills.
Nice to have
- Two years of leadership experience managing direct reports, preferably supply chain personnel.
- Lean practitioner experience.
- ISO-certified manufacturing experience.
- APICS certification.
