Director BE (Back end) Controller (Semiconductor): Managing and optimizing manufacturing costs across internal and outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing facilities with an accent on cost transparency, forecasting, inventory valuation, and operational efficiency. Focus on analyzing cost variances, evaluating yield and process improvements, and coordinating financial planning across semiconductor divisions and manufacturing sites.
Location: Based in Singapore or at a primary back-end manufacturing facility in Shanghai, Tianjin, Kaohsiung, or Melaka; periodic travel to back-end manufacturing facilities is required.

What you will do
- Track and analyze materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs across internal and outsourced back-end assembly and testing facilities.
- Identify cost variances, perform root cause analysis, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans for back-end semiconductor operations.
- Build cost dashboards and report on cost trends, efficiency metrics, and savings opportunities.
- Partner with engineering and production teams on cost reduction, yield improvement, process changes, and capacity expansion evaluations.
- Control inventory valuation, equipment capitalization and depreciation, internal controls, accounting compliance, and audit support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cost control, preferably in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of back-end semiconductor processes and cost drivers.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or CPA/CMA qualification.
- Knowledge of semiconductor cost structures and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
