Staff Pharmacist (Specialty Pharmacy)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Ohio, or Pennsylvania. Training hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am-6:00 pm Eastern Time for approximately six months. After training, hours are Monday through Friday, 11:00 am-8:00 pm Eastern Time, with a one-week on-call rotation approximately twice per year and two Saturdays per year.

Salary: $54-$91 per hour, depending on experience and geographic location, plus eligibility for an annual bonus plan.

What you will do

• Interpret physicians’ and prescribers’ prescriptions and verify drug names, strengths, directions, refills, transfers, and order-entry information.
• Contact prescribers and patients to resolve prescription questions and expedite order processing.
• Collaborate with prescribers to tailor infusion regimens, including pre-medications and adverse-reaction medications.
• Consult patients on medication use, drug interactions, adverse reactions, medication stability, and safe-use guidelines.
• Track order issues, respond to customer concerns about lost orders or dispensing errors, and maintain quality, production, and service levels.
• Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians, back up other pharmacists, and train less experienced pharmacists.

Requirements

• Current pharmacist license in the resident state, in good standing.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and make independent decisions quickly to support patient care.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, oral and written communication, customer service, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain quality and accuracy while working efficiently and adapting to changing business needs.
• Ability to navigate IT systems and troubleshoot basic IT issues independently.
• For permanent or occasional work at home, a cable broadband or fiber-optic internet connection with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is required.
