Technician, EMT/ Fire & Safety

Location: Parsons, Kansas, United States; on-site at the facility for a minimum of 3 days per week

What you will do

• Conduct daily safety walk-throughs of production areas, support services, and maintenance shops.
• Identify safety issues and support compliance with SOPs, OSHA, and DoD safety regulations.
• Plan and conduct fire, tornado, CPR, first aid, and other safety training and drills.
• Inspect fire extinguishers across the plant and coordinate Fire Prevention Week activities.
• Respond to alarms and emergency calls, providing on-scene and transport emergency medical care.
• Perform medical duties including new-hire and annual physicals, drug screenings, and assessments.

Requirements

• State of Kansas EMT certification.
• First Responder certification, or the ability to obtain it within 60 days.
• Ability to complete DoD certification training, including HAZMAT Awareness and HAZMAT Operations, within 12 months of hire.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards, OSHA rules and regulations, and safety training practices.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to perform physical duties and work in challenging environmental conditions.

Nice to have

• Previous firefighting experience.
