Head of Business Operations (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Act as the senior operational partner to the Deputy Managing Director and help establish Business Operations as a strategic, business-enabling function.
• Translate business priorities into operational plans, clear actions, ownership, escalation routes, and delivery rhythms.
• Identify bottlenecks and duplication, then simplify, standardise, and improve cross-functional workflows.
• Lead operational improvement workstreams that strengthen traceability, evidence capture, continuity, and scalability.
• Work with IT, Legal, HR, Finance, Site Operations, and other process owners to improve systems and information flow, including ERP workflows such as SAP.
• Lead the Integrated Business and Resource Planning Analyst and coordinate audit, assurance, management-system, and certification activities.

Requirements

• Experience in business operations, operational management, programme operations, process improvement, or a similar cross-functional delivery role in an engineering, manufacturing, technology, aerospace, or complex regulated environment.
• Ability to translate strategy into practical plans, operating rhythms, actions, and delivery mechanisms.
• Strong process improvement, stakeholder management, influencing, and executive-partnering skills.
• Experience supporting governance, audit, assurance, or compliance activities.
• Experience leading change management, stakeholder engagement, communication, and transition planning.
• Hybrid work in Oxfordshire, UK, with the role based at hirify.global UK in Harwell.

Nice to have

• Experience improving operational systems and digital tools, including ERP systems such as SAP.
• Exposure to health and safety, quality, security, export compliance, or ISO management systems.
• Experience in a scaling organisation with maturing processes.
